Moruya is a relaxed country town with a thriving arts scene and a rich and interesting history.It is famous for supplying the granite used in the pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and many of the town's magnificent old buildings are also made from this local stone.
Moruya has a lively arts and events program with the annual Jazz Festival held each October boasting an amazingly varied program with big-name jazz musicians.
Moruya is also host to the River of Art in May, which celebrates the ebb and flow of visual art, sculpture, performing arts, film and theatre that thrives here and there is an annual rodeo each New Years Day!
There are colourful country markets every Saturday morning and the wonderful award winning SAGE Growers Market on Tuesday afternoons, both held at Riverside Park. Country style delis sell the best of the region's local produce and quirky cafes and award-winning restaurants are within an easy stroll.
